With Fall not even officially upon us (though I'm typing this in eery, no air conditioner humming silence), it's hard to think Halloween. But time flies when you're having fun, and with the return of football and fall beer, its hard not to have fun.
Decorating your house for the season, instead of a specific party, allows you to focus on the food and fun when d-day is upon you. Especially for a holiday like Halloween, you'll want to have your spooky kitsch in place long before your first guest hails a cab.
It's challenging to justify seasonal purchases, especially for those of us operating with limited storage and income, but coming home to a house that is festive can be almost as fun as, you know, seeing daylight somewhere between Sunday and Saturday.
I hate fake spiderwebs, and never get used to decorations that make noise when you walk past them (terrifying), so was delighted to see some strange arrangements at Marshall's to ring in the most festive season.

Those of us who grew up in a time where moms and teachers actually had holiday-patterned turtlenecks often fear any holiday-specific decor or wardrobe, but when done correctly, your home can be a welcoming and festive place for friends to celebrate whatever season needs celebrating.
