Anthropologie is a twenty-something's Field of Dreams: if you build it, we will come.
We just generally won't buy anything, because that store is - as my Texan friend says - for people who pay retail.
That being said, a Saturday can be considered well-spent in the back room where they keep the marked down merchandise that brings it out of food stamp territory and into splurge territory.
Though I generally like to head into the store to explore the mark downs (a lot of times you can find something that's still retail online), their website has enough steals to make it this week's Five Finds.
Caldwell Platter: Serve up a bohemian brunch on this playful platter. The colors will feel homey and warm, no matter the season and your guests will have seconds and thirds until all that's left to admire is the beautiful dish. ($29.95)
Kaleidobug Cocktail Napkins: Paper may be passable, but cute cloth napkins will impress your guests between cocktail weenies and mini-bruschettas. ($9.95)
Sentimental Ice Bucket: Keep your cool no matter the party foul with this charming, vintage ice bucket, just like the ones you used to know. ($29.95)
Mini Tablecloth, Round: Though your serving table may not be the main stage, that doesn't mean you can dress it up in anything less than its Sunday best. This small tablecloth will brighten up a room, or serve as the main show for more intimate dinners. ($49.95)
Nostalgia Jar Candle, Tree of Life Elixer: For the hostess that has everything, a little good joojoo and a cute candle never hurt. Bring in this karmic candle with a touch of kitsch and make the hostess's home even happier. It's a little steep, but the best things in life aren't always free. ($29.95)
