Arguably the best album ever made - ever - this one contains classics like "Anna Begins," "Sullivan Street," "Omaha," and "Round Here" that always make me think of late Summer.
The right music is - bear with me - instrumental to a good party. Playing Lady Gaga at a silent auction confuses people, and Beethoven is a bore at a BBQ. Luckily, Summer is the second easiest season for entertaining music (Christmas takes the yule log on that one). If you get stuck, though, here are a few of my favorites from a weekend BBQ in Long Beach:
- Zac Brown Band - Chicken Fried
- Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
- Bob Seger - We've Got Tonight
- Old Crow Medicine Show - Wagon Wheel
- Bruce Springsteen - Thunder Road
- The Temptations - Stand By Me
- Sugarland - Stuck Like Glue
- The Beatles - Something
- Night Ranger - Sister Christian
- Earth, Wind & Fire - September
- Rusted Root - Send Me On My Way
- Seals & Crofts - Summer Breeze
- Sublime - Santeria
- Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet
- Eric Hutchinson - Rock & Roll
- Hall & Oates - Rich Girl
- The Wallflowers - Sixth Avenue Heartache
- REM - Nightswimming
- Mason Jennings - Memphis, Tennessee
- Stevie Nicks and Don Henley - Leather and Lace
- Neil Diamond - Forever in Blue Jeans
- The Marshall Tucker Band - Can't You See
- Mariah Carey - Always Be My Baby
